Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days 2026 β Australia's βOctober Prime Dayβ β wrapped at 11:59pm AEST on Monday 5 October, closing a seven-day sale that began on 29 September. If you blinked and missed it, don't panic: here's what genuinely discounted, what usually happens to prices next, and how to set yourself up for the bigger sale still to come.
What actually discounted
The pattern was a familiar one. Amazon's own hardware β Echo speakers, Fire TV sticks and Kindles β carried the biggest percentage cuts of the week, with noise-cancelling headphones from the likes of Bose and Sennheiser, robot and cordless vacuums, and Ninja kitchen appliances close behind. In short: the categories that discount hardest at every Amazon event did so again.
- Dates: 12:01am AEST Tuesday 29 September to 11:59pm AEST Monday 5 October 2026
- Access: Prime members only β $9.99/month or $79/year, with a 30-day free trial
- Timing: a week earlier than the 2025 event, which ran 7β13 October
- Deepest cuts: Amazon devices, headphones, robot vacuums and Ninja kitchen gear
The products we're price-tracking
These are the top-rated products in our review database from the categories that discounted hardest this week. Prices shown are typical prices as at 7 October 2026 β take a screenshot. If any of them drops below its typical price again between now and late November, you're looking at a genuine deal.
Missed it? Here's what prices do next
Historically, prices on sale items drift back up within days of an Amazon event ending β but October discounts have a habit of returning. Prime Big Deal Days now kicks off the Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping period, so expect rival retailers to answer with competing promotions of their own in the weeks ahead.
One tool worth using year-round: Amazon's βTypical priceβ label, which shows what an item has actually sold for over the past 90 days. A discount off the typical price is real money saved; a giant percentage off an RRP the product never sells at is marketing. The same check applies at every other retailer.
Next stop: Black Friday
The next major event is Black Friday on 27 November β around seven weeks away, and historically the deepest discount event of the year for Australian shoppers. Our live deals tracker is already loaded with the top-rated products we'll be watching.
