How We Review Products
Last updated: October 2026
Our promise: every recommendation on Daily Review Australia is independent, research-driven and written for Australian shoppers first. Brands cannot pay for coverage, placement or scores.
Our Editorial Process
Every product review published on Daily Review Australia follows the same five-step methodology:
- 1. Market scan: we shortlist the products Australians actually buy, using sales data, new-release tracking and search trends across Amazon Australia, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Bunnings and other local retailers.
- 2. Community research: we aggregate and analyse thousands of real owner opinions from Reddit, Whirlpool, OzBargain, ProductReview.com.au and verified-purchase reviews, weighting long-term ownership feedback over first impressions.
- 3. Specification & value analysis: we compare specifications, Australian warranty terms, local stock availability and price history to identify genuine value โ not just the cheapest or the most expensive option.
- 4. Scoring: each product is scored out of 5 against criteria specific to its category (performance, build quality, ease of use, value for money, and Australian after-sales support).
- 5. Ongoing updates: reviews are re-checked regularly. When prices change, new models launch, or recurring faults emerge in owner feedback, we update the review and its score.
How We Score
- 4.5 โ 5.0: Exceptional. Best-in-class and easy to recommend.
- 4.0 โ 4.4: Excellent. Minor compromises, great for most people.
- 3.5 โ 3.9: Good. Worth buying if the price or use-case fits.
- Below 3.5: We generally do not recommend these products.
