News & Commentary WATCH: The Minister for Barns and Babies on anger, despair and fear By David Pledger | May 8, 2019 | The Minister for Barns and Babies refuses to discuss his portfolio and prefers to talk about his feelings in this fiery interview (click below) with the Minister for Empathy*, David Pledger. (Language advisory). This is the latest in a series of videos in the lead-up to the Federal Election 2019 conducted by Mr Pledger (photographed below) who is teasing out what makes the government front bench members tick. He does this by seeking to understand the role that empathy plays in the development of their political sensibilities. On Saturday night, the Minister for Empathy made an address to the National Press at the Ian Potter Museum in Melbourne. The event was attended by hundreds of voters who were keen to learn how to vote with empathy. They nominated Kindness, Compassion and Generosity as factors in their nomination of candidates. *The Federal Ministry for Empathy has responsibility for ensuring a nationally consistent approach to empathy, compassion and kindness and these interviews calmly interrogate that consistency in our highest office.
