WATCH: The Australian Ballet’s World Ballet Day live-stream

For the fourth year in a row, World Ballet Day is being celebrated with a 20-hour long live-stream from five ballet companies around the world.

The Australian Ballet again kicks off the Facebook live broadcast, featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the company in action. The company’s four-hour broadcast is hosted by Chris Bath and shows the dancers in classes and rehearsal for upcoming productions.

The broadcast then continues to the Bolshoi Ballet in Russia, to the UK’s Royal Ballet, to the National Ballet of Canada and finally the San Francisco Ballet.

Last year’s World Ballet Day live-stream was watched by 700,000 people live and reached an audience of 6.7 million people on demand.

You can watch the live-stream here, with the Australian Ballet broadcasting from midday to 4pm.

  1. Does one have to stay up at 3 am GMT+2 to watch the Australians? I didn’t and can’t find any catch up anywhere, unlike in the YouTube days…. or is one missing anything…
