Go behind the scenes with World Ballet Day’s marathon live-stream

If you happen to be looking for a conversation-starter today, you can always wish your friends, colleagues and loved ones a “Happy World Ballet Day!”

To celebrate, five of the world’s leading ballet companies are again joining together for a 20-hour live-stream, World Ballet Day LIVE.

And as Australia is naturally ahead of the rest of the world (or at least our time-zone is) the Australian Ballet kicks off the event at 1pm (AEDT) for its four hours of live footage from the Australian Ballet Centre in Melbourne.

Channel Seven presenter James Tobin will host the live-stream, allowing viewers to watch the Australian Ballet’s daily class, as well as rehearsals for its productions of Swan Lake, Nijinsky, Spartacus and Coppélia.

This will be the third World Ballet Day LIVE event, featuring Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, the Royal Ballet in London, The National Ballet of Canada, and the San Francisco Ballet.

We’ll have the live video available here from 1pm (AEDT), but more information can be found at
