Daily Review’s comedy six: Tim Hewitt

Describe your show in 140 characters or less:

A gnarly showcase of five comedians from around the country, handpicked by the Festival. I’ll be performing alongside Danielle Walker, Rohan Ganju, Nat Damena and Tom Cashman.

Do you have a pre-gig ritual?

Usually just sniffing around for hot goss from the other acts on the lineup.

Who is the funniest person in the world and why?

Fordo my old housemate from school, he is a hellman (self proclaimed) and also an accountant. My current housemate Sam Taunton is second funniest. He is a comedian though.

What’s the most revealing joke you’ve ever told on stage?

Umm.. probably one about my mum’s (….)

What’s the most memorable thing a heckler has ever said to you?

Aan old bloke on the Goldy walked up to heckle me then tripped and knocked himself out on a chair on the (empty) front row. He wasn’t even booted, the bartender just propped him up in the seat and said “he’s enjoying the show!”

If you weren’t a comedian, what would you be?

Oh man, probably a real guy in advertising, like I’d probably talk about target markets and ‘engagement’ too much.
